PROGRAM FOR HOMES AND COMMERCIAL BUILDING CERTIFICATION
In 2023, the AAES launched its most comprehensive national program to date to certify the energy efficiency of homes and commercial buildings. This decision corresponds to the government’s objective to increase energy efficiency across the United States.

The United States is already feeling the wrath of climate change. In 2017, natural disasters cost the United States $300 billion in damages to homes, companies, and infrastructure. The implications of climate change up to the years 2050 and 2100, under low, medium, and high emission scenarios, are compiled in the G20 Climate Risk Atlas report.

Science shows that without immediate action, the frequency of agricultural drought in the United States will increase by 67% by 2050, the duration of heatwaves will last 2000% longer, and the combined effects of sea level rise, coastal erosion, and fiercer weather will cause economic chaos, costing the country around 3.77% of GDP.

The sooner the United States implements policies to reduce carbon emissions, the less and more manageable the subsequent climate impacts will be. If we can keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius, the cost of climate consequences in the United States will reduce from 10.52 percent of GDP in 2100 (in a high emissions scenario) to just 3.3 percent.

It has been forecasted that if you possess one of these credentials, the value of your home will increase. Some of the work required to acquire this certification can be financed to assist with the cost of home improvements. For example, if you install a new air-conditioning unit that consumes $50 instead of $100, the $50 savings will cover the cost of the new installation and you will receive a certificate from AAES.

The AAES launched a system that allowed home and building owners to have their homes certified based on the different steps they have taken to improve their efficiency because energy efficiency is crucial for the future and raises the value of the building and residence.
Three tiers of certification are available from AAES, each corresponding to a different set of requirements for insulation, cutting-edge cooling and heating systems and green energy use. It has been shown that owners can see a value boost of up to 8 percent of their homes and commercial buildings if they obtain this certification.

AAES will only provide this certificate once it has been verified for installation by the designated auditors. If you have any questions or would like to have your property certified, please contact us.
